Denmark: The travel industry faces bankruptcies

The Danish travel industry is expected to experience a number of bankruptcies following poor earnings last year, eroded capital base and the impact of the September 11 terror attacks in the US. So says Ole Egholm of Dansk Rejsebrancheanalyse (Danish Travel Industry Analysis). Egholm will present its annual analysis of the 100 leading players in the Danish travel industry on October 23.

Italy: Bleak outlook for tourism
Article Abstract:
Observers expect at least two bleak years for the Italian tourism industry as a result of the terrorist attacks in the US. Almost one third of the 13mn US tourists annually who visit in Europe go to Italy. Touring Club Italiano estimates that if US tourists stay away, it will mean a loss of revenue of up to EUR 5.16bn.
