Denmark: Mobile clients unfaithful
Article Abstract:
Disloyalty among mobile clients cost about DKr 1bn (USD 120mn) a year for Danish mobile operators, taken into account that the cost of each new client is DKr 1,200, according to estimates by several operators. 14% of mobile clients in Denmark, totaling nearly 3.9mn, have changed operators during the last six months, a new report, made by Greens for the paper, shows. Monique Moulle-Zetterstrom, head of Orange Denmark, says the Danish regulation that clients can not be bound for more than six months is a major reason behind the fact that Danish operators have higher costs than operators in other countries. However, she would prefer that operators aren't allowed to bind subscribers at all, as this would eliminate the foundation of the present system, i.e. operators granting subsidies to mobile terminal sales.

Denmark: Inflated statistics regarding mobile customers
Article Abstract:
Telecoms analysts say the statistics presented by the Danish Telecom Agency, according to which 3.7mn Danes own a mobile phone, are inflated. A third of Danish mobile telephony clients use cash cards in their phones and these phones are included in the statistics until 12 months has gone from the latest call from the phone. Debitel MD Per Nielsen says this is too long a period - a three-month limit is more realistic. According to the Danish Telecom Agency, the proportion of mobile telephony clients rose 21% in the past year. Telecoms analyst Mette S. Ahorlu of IDC says this figure is too high.
