Deutsche Bank AG's planned acquisition of Zurich Scudder Investments Inc. has been postponed. The World Trade Center attacks in September 2001 caused the delay of the deal, which is still expected to push through in the same month.

Deutsche Bank gains control of Piaggio SpA

Deutsche Bank AG has purchased Piaggio SpA, displacing U.S. investment company Texas-Pacific Group (TPG). The agreement puts the value of the Italian company at 1.35 trillion lire (Euro697.2 million) including debt. The deal gives Deutsche Bank's Morgan Grenfell Private Equity group a share of 65% to 70% in Piaggio, with the remainder to be split between TPG and the Agnelli family, whose members control Fiat SpA, and who own the majority of Piaggio.
