Deutsche Bank plans to build French branches
Article Abstract:
Deutsche Bank AG expressed plans to build a French banking unit after the bank had been unsuccessful in locating a French partner. Deutsche Bank expects the unit will have 10 branches with about 150 employees. The unit will offer traditional banking services, and banking by phone, and by computer. Though the bank had hoped for a merge, and still hopes for one, it plans to pursue this new venture in its larger plan to offer services in most of Europe. Already, the bank has agreements with a Spanish insurance company, the Spanish post office, Unicredito and Banca Commerciale Italiana. Deutsche Bank also acquired a subsidiary of Credit Lyonnais, based in Belgium.
