Dimetapp ad focus of protest
Article Abstract:
Whitehall-Robins Healthcare Canada announced that it will talk first with retail clients before deciding if it will pull the TV ad for the Dimetapp cold remedy. Retail Council of Canada (RCC) has expressed its opposition to the ad, which features thieves crashing their car through a store window and stealing merchandise. The RCC said Whitehall-Robins made fun of a very serious problem. However, Malcolm Seath, the company's president said he would like to find out first what reasons retailers have in mind why they want the ad pulled out.
