Dissidents sense a chance for democracy amid reforms
Article Abstract:
Democratic activists in China are optimistic that democracy would eventually be restored in the country, as federal regulators seek to establish a number of economic and social reforms. Analysts believe Premier Zhu Rongji, would encounter difficulties in satisfying the public's demand for economic development and political reforms. One of the groups that have been taking an aggressive approach towards democracy include Chinese citizens who were forced to evacuate from the mainland during the early 1980s.

Nikkei has a good guide on Wall Street
Article Abstract:
Nikkei 225 Index has begun to follow the trends exhibited by the Dow Jones Industrial Average after five years. Analysts attributed the correlation of the two stock indices to the reversal of the Japanese yen against the US dollar. The correlation of the two currencies indicated that the macroeconomic outlook of both countries were becoming similar, characterized by low interest rates, moderate economic growth, low inflation and rising liquidity.
