Dominators and dominees
Article Abstract:
Pierre Bourdieu, French author, has published a work called 'La domination masculine' which places emphasis on the role of domination in social relations. He argues that domination relates to ancestral structures and affects private and public lives. He sees men as dominators and as victims having to prove all the time that they are macho. Bourdieu argues that firing employees is a way of asserting dominance. He suggests that subversion is a way of tackling domination.
