Don't become an HMO victim
Article Abstract:
Profit, instead of patient welfare, seems to have become the priority of many health maintenance organizations (HMOs), triggering complaints from many of their members. In recent years, a number of HMOs have been charged in court for negligence. Suggestions on how to protect one's self from the alleged malpractices of HMOs are offered.

A mother relates how the Feingold diet helped in treating her son who was suffering from the hyperactivity syndrome. Her son was taking Ritalin but still was hyperactive. The diet enumerates what foods stimulated his behavior and recommended those that would relax and relieve stress.

Rape victim Theresa Pallesi talks about how her health maintenance organization (HMO) had her committed to a mental ward after she asked for assistance. She fought the HMO's decision to terminate her benefits and also succeeded in having her rapist dismissed from his job.
