Dow Jones earnings jumped in quarter

Dow Jones & Co. announced that its net income more than tripled during the third-quarter of 1999. The company posted $102.8 million (96.5 million euros) in quarterly net income. This comes out to $1.13 per diluted share and also includes a $57.3 million one-time gain. Dow Jones was helped by strong revenue from advertising at the Wall Street Journal and the firm's other newspapers.
