Applied Power to acquire Rubicon for $347.8 million

Applied Power Inc. announced that it has reached an agreement to purchase Rubicon Group PLC in a 207 million pound sterling ($347.8 million) deal. Rubicon is a electrical-engineering firm based in Great Britain. Applied Power, a manufacturer based in the US, expects to make a 235-pence-a-share tender bid for Rubicon's common stock. Rubicon produces electronic closures and related goods.
