E.ON Energie AG of Germany has made a surprise offer to acquire Endesa S.A. of Spain for 29.1 billion Euros ($34.7 billion). The power and natural gas utilities acquisition could spark further consolidations in the industry. E.ON Energie AG offered 27.50 Euros per share purchase.
