The European Commission is calling on insurance companies to either justify or reform two practices it deems problematic for antitrust standards. The first is the industry's practice of aligning premiums involving large risk contracts, which EU officials believe could foster higher prices. The second involves insurance broker contingent commissions, which EU officials consider conflicts of interest.
