EU sets antitrust charges on Visa, renewing its scrutiny of industry

The European Union aims to crack down on restrictions to competition in Europe's financial- services industry . As part of this effort, it has charged Visa International with allegedly blocking competitors from its network and, by so doing, negatively impacting retailers by reducing the choice of credit cards they can offer customers.
