OPEC ouput quotas likely won't change at ministers' meeting

The Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) is not expected to change their existing oil production quotas at their July 31, 2003 meeting in Vienna, Austria. Quotas are not expected to changed despite the possibility that Iraq will start exporting more oil in the next few months.

Venezuela is becoming more and more dependent on foreign oil supplies as it struggles with declining production. Venezuela's oil production was hurt by a strike at Petroleos de Venezuela S.A. in December 2002.
