Earth heat is utilized for the heating of municipal houses in Borova Lada
Article Abstract:
Veskom (Prague, Czech Republic), engineering firm, has installed a heating system for the utilization of earth heat. The project was realized within the overall reconstruction of the infrastructure of this municipality. The total costs on the reconstruction were CEK 17 mil. CEK 4.2 mil of the sum was represented by investment costs on the purchase of boiler houses with heat pumps including bore holes. The fund Phare CBC participated in the financing of all the project with a subsidy of EUR 323,251, CEK 13 mil. Six buildings are heated by earth heat in the municipality. Heat is taken from a total of 18 bore holes with a depth of 120 mt by the Swedish heat pumps IVT Greenline with the CFC-free cooling agent R 407c.

AV Engineering (Zlin, Czech Republic), information technology supplier, increased its total turnover by 23% to CEK 190.4 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 154.7 mil in 1999. The improvement of the 2000 results was caused by the growth of all the firm's activities focused on support during the development of new products in the engineering sector. The firm's turnover in the field of the supplies of M.CAD/CAM technology increased by 19% to CEK 96.2 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 80.7 mil in 1999. Its turnover in the field of the supplies of technical support increased by 43% to CEK 84.8 mil in 2000 compared to CEK 59.4 mil in 1999.

Siemens CR (Czech Republic), electrical engineering group, saw a turnover of about CEK 32 bil for the trade year 1999/2000. It ensured 2.74% of the total turnover of the parent concern Siemens (Germany). The group Siemens CR saw an after-tax profit of CEK 877.1 mil for 1999/2000.
