Easy-to-read design gives art Maas appeal
Article Abstract:
Limburg's fine arts and archaelogical collection will bepermanently housed in the Bonnefanten Museum in Maastricht, Netherlands, which opens onMarch 11 1995. Aldo Rossi designed the museum, which is located on the site of a ceramicsplant on the bank of the River Maas. Museum gallery space is provided by the originalWiebengahal factory building on the site which has been retained. This building was constructedin 1910, with the new design based on an 18th- and 19th-Century model. The galleriesincorporate much wall space and make use of a great deal of natural light.
