Eating out review
Article Abstract:
A 1997 review of the UK market for eating outside the home revealed that the sector has recovered since the previous review in Aug 1995. Consumers both express a desire to eat out more frequently, and are actually doing so. Nearly one-third of adults surveyed in 1996 had eaten out in the week prior to the survey period. The industry shrank during the early 1990s, but the total number of venues is beginning to increase again. The positive trend looks set to continue throughout the 1990s, with growth in the mid price chain and family dining markets being particularly evident.
