Effects of e-mail on the organization

Article Abstract:

Research into the use of electronic mail systems (e-mail) found the cost of communications, in US companies, had been slightly reduced. It was judged to be a time saving method of communication which has improved the dissemination of information within companies. E-mail is an asynchronous system of communication which can easily send data throughout a whole organization. Some observers are concerned about the amount of advertising on the e-mail, which can be time consuming to read. The content of e-mails are usually written in an informal style.

Lessons from Russian human resource management experience

Article Abstract:

Western companies have many challenges to face when launching ventures in Russia. Perspectives of specific barriers to effectiveness are provided in the context of Russian human resource management, based on observations from United States and Russian academicians and practitioners, which provided human resource management training for 31 Russian firms. Recommendations are made that address the challenges for western executives in helping their Russian counterparts to develop more credible and competitive HR practices.
