Article Abstract:
To help Indonesia fight the war against terrorism various defense programs have been started by the United States government in Indonesia like the $17 million United States Defense Department program that offers "counter-terrorist fellowships" to more than 100 Indonesian military officers, United States' Justice Department program to make Indonesian police to get attuned to Indonesia's democratic aspirations and more especially the $16 million United States' funded Detachment 88 counter terrorism unit raised from the Indonesian police force.
