False heaven
Article Abstract:
Francis Fukuyama forecast the end of history, but this appears to be an illusion, though others have preached a similar message. The argument is that ideology has become less important, as has the nation state, and this means that competitive capitalism and democracy have been strengthened. It takes time to develop a democracy, and there may still be conflicts between non-democracies and democracies. Wars are not likely to disappear, and young democracies may still be prepared to become involved in conflicts.

The last ideology
Article Abstract:
The policies of western countries following the end of the cold war could move toward a more radical push toward democracy, or a safer and more conservative approach. There are risks and benefits in seeking to promote democracy. Critics argue that this could be confused with imposing western ideas. Some aspects of western society, such as pressures on family life, are worrying to other groups. Democracy should not involve imposing ideas from outside. The world could be made better if democracy is promoted.
