Enfants terribles
Article Abstract:
Brain damage affecting the pre-frontal cortex is linked to anti-social behavior, and can also affect the ability of brain-damaged people to learn about morality. This has been shown by a study of two patients suffering brain damage while infants. The effect of pre-frontal cortex injury was to reduce their abilities in tactical thinking, and to lower their understanding of moral issues to levels below patients suffering damage as adults. There is a possibility that this condition could be treated by adjustment of nuerotransmitter chemicals to allow new pathways to develop in the brain.

The tyranny of time
Article Abstract:
Circadian rhythms are important in humans and other animals, and this has implications for treating diseases. Timing is important in administering chemotherapy, and this is also true for asthma treaments. Timing of sleep can affect depression, and staying awake late at night can help to combat depression. This may be due to certain hormones being released at night, with less of a brake on their release if the subject is awake. An approach using timing cannot always offer a cure, but it can help when used with other therapies.
