Euronext net leaps before tie-up

Euronext N.V. of the Netherlands is to be purchased by NYSE Group Inc. of the United States. The European stock exchange posted stellar net profit rise by 29 percent to 90.7 million Euros ($119.6 million) from 70.4 million Euros last year. Euronext N.V. operates stock exchanges in France, Portugal, Belgium and the Netherlands.

Swiss Exchange merges with Telekurs, SIS Clear
Article Abstract:
Members and shareholders of the Swiss Exchange have approved a merger with Swiss securities clearinghouse SIS Clear and Telekurs, a data provider. The new company formed from the merger, SWX Group, will have increased control over clearing shares trading on its platform.
