Europe reconsiders nuclear power

Driven by high energy costs, concerns about natural gas supplies and greenhouse gases, Europe is reconsidering nuclear energy. A nuclear reactor is currently under construction in Finland. However, environmental and health groups remain opposed to nuclear power.

EU pares growth forecast in wake of credit crunch
Article Abstract:
The European Commission altered its original forecast for economic growth within the 27-nation bloc for 2007, lowering it from 2.9% to 2.8%. For the 13 euro countries, the Commission reduced its forecast from 2.6% to 2.5%.
