European PC sales rose by 22% in fourth quarter

Sales of personal computers in Europe continued to see a sharp improvement in the 1998 fourth-quarter. However, a Dataquest Inc. analysis states that growth rates have probably reached their peak. In the quarter, PC sales experienced a 22% rise compared to the same period in 1997. The quarter was one of Europe's best years ever. Growth in the quarter was lower than the same period in 1997. Analysts warned that future growth could be disappointing.
