Japan steel firms warn of loss
Article Abstract:
Three major Japanese steel makers, Kobe Steel Ltd., NKK Corp., and Sumitomo Metal Industries Ltd., announced that they are expecting to post higher-than-predicted losses for the current fiscal year. The statements follow an announcement by Nippon Steel Corp. and Kawasaki Steel Corp. that they will be reducing their earnings predictions. Analysts believe that Japan's steel industry will continue to struggle as a result of an expected continuation of the decline in sales volume for the next fiscal year.
