The article talks of the DIY retail market covering the countries of Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Belgium, Netherlands, UK, France, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland, including the emerging markets of Italy and Spain, for the period 1991-1995. Of the above-mentioned markets, the german market exhibited the largest retail of DIY products, with its US$32 billion in 1995. This figure depicted a 42% increase in 1991 to 50% in 1995. France, came in second with US$9 billion, while the UK with US$7 billion, came in third.
