Ceva exports one fourth of production

Cementarny a vapenky (Ceva) (Prachovice, Czech Republic), cement company, exported about 25% of its production to Germany in 1999. Its biggest competitor on the German market was Poland. Ceva is seeing a slow but permanent decline in cement sales, from 1.02 mil t in 1997 to 1 mil t in 1998 and 918,000 t in 1999. In 1998 the firm generated a net profit of 217 mil Kc on proceeds of nearly 1.9 bil Kc. Ceva has a stock of 1.28 bil Kc and a majority stake held by Holderbank (Switzerland).

Karosa exports to France
Article Abstract:
Karosa (Vysoke Myto, Czech Republic), bus manufacturer, plans to export over 550 school buses of the type Recreo to France in 2000. If it succeeds in the plan, Karosa will sell a record quantity of buses on the market. The company increased the volume of its total sales by 10% to 918 buses for 3Q 2000 compared to 3Q 1999. Reasons for the growth were exports. The volume of the firm's exports was 560 buses for 3Q 2000, 23% more compared to 3Q 1999.

Electric power exports
Article Abstract:
CEZ (Czech Republic), power firm, plans to export 8 TWh of electric power in 2000. The firm exported 5.674 TWh of electric power in 1999, a double compared to 1998. The firm replaced the drop of demand on the domestic market with exports. According to some estimates, domestic demand for electric power decreased by more than 2.7% in 1998 compared to 1997. CEZ exports electric power mainly to Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy.
