Europeans lose taste for poultry
Article Abstract:
Sales of poultry are down in Europe with the threat of avian influenza looming. The largest declines are in Belgium and Italy while the United Kingdom and Norway poultry consumption patterns are steady. The government has said poultry remains safe to eat and has given instructions to cook poultry and eggs thoroughly as well as public health responses to the agricultural community.

EU retreats from setting unified biotech-crop law
Article Abstract:
Regulations for genetically modified crops are being put on hold by the European Union. The situation is now too complicated for one standard rule and must be studied further. The World Trade Organization had ruled the European Union was violating trade agreements by not approving genetically modified crops.
