Russia increases growth forecast for hot economy

The Central Bank of the Russian Federation increased its forecast for economic growth in 2007 from 6.5% to 7.5%. Russia's economy grew by 7.8% during the first half of 2007, due primarily to a 20% increase in investment spending and higher consumer demand. Consumer prices are expected to rise less than 8% this year.
