Eyes wide shut
Article Abstract:
The price war in the Canadian laser eye surgery market is forcing players to compete hard to survive in the business. While market leader TLC Laser Eye Centers admits that the price war has affected its profits, it refused to lower its prices of about C$2,000 per eye. TLC believes it will win over potential clients who prefer quality surgery. On the other hand, Lasik Vision has become the fastest-growing laser surgery firm in North America for charging around C$1,498 for both eyes. Likewise, Icon Laser Centers has entered the market with prices similar to Lasik.
