FRANCE: BP AMOCO BUYS APEX INGENIERIE
Article Abstract:
BP Solarex, a subsidiary of the British-American group BP Amoco, has acquired Apex Ingenierie, a French company which specialises in solar electricity. Apex Ingenierie has needed backing by major group in the sector in order to cope with its rapid development: a growth rate of around 50% per year over the past eight years. Its turnover is expected to come to FFr 70mn in 1999, compared with FFr 26mn in 1998. BP Solarex is the world leader in the manufacture of photovoltaic panels, and it is expected provide Apex Ingenierie with the financial means needed to continue to grow.
