According to Benchmark Group, in 1998, on-line sales represented FFr 30mn in France, compared with FFr 50mn in 1997. According to IDC, these sales came to FFr 390mn and according to Mediangles, they will come to FFr 3.3bn. It costs a minimum of FFr 100,000 to create an Internet sales site and the same amount of money must also be spent on developing the site.
