FRANCE: TOUR DU MONDE BOUGHT BY FNAC
Article Abstract:
The French electrical and media goods retail group, Fnac (PPR), bought the French bookstore, Le Tour du Monde, which specialises in second hand books, in January 2000. The transaction provides Fnac with the chance to develop its book shop offer, and its Internet site, Fnac.com. The transaction also includes the Tour du Monde search service and stock containing more than 100,000 second hand books, updated by a bookshop network of some several hundred outlets.

FRANCE: TRAMIER COUNTS ON FINE GROCERIES
Article Abstract:
The Tramier Industries group which produces condiments and olives, formed a new fine groceries company named Les Comptoirs de Gabriel SA, which is expected to make a turnover of FFr 15mn in 2000, of which 45% was from exports. As part of its development of fine groceries, Tramier acquired Delices du Vallon, a company based in Normandy, which makes FFr 6.5mn in vinegar, mustard, and spices, sold in fine groceries.
