The three most important issues confronting marketing professionals today are technology, retailer concentration and recruitment. Among the most important technology advances affecting the retail industry are motion sensor-equipped in-store displays, microcircuitry and touch screen kiosks. Marketers will have to adjust to the changes resulting from the increasing concentration of retail power. The challenges and difficulties of recruiting competent personnel is a matter of growing concern among marketing professionals.

London Life extends Freedom name

Ontario, Canada-based London Life Insurance Co. is rebranding its financial security division as Freedom 55 Financial. The move is part of the company's strategy to reposition itself as a financial planning institution instead of just an insurance organization. The new name will be launched in Oct 2000, along with a television advertising campaign from Goodgoll Curtis Inc. in Toronto.
