Finding China's missing farmers
Article Abstract:
The recent tax reforms relating to China's agricultural sector are discussed. Agricultural taxes are abolished. A subsidy is also being paid to the farmers. This is to revive an ever dwindling farming community which has been struggling under exploitative measures against farmers that have existed in China for many years. However, there are few farmers who are taking the bait. The efficacy of these measures is analyzed.
