Flying the Apache Longbow
Article Abstract:
Boeing Co.'s AH-64D Apache Longbow, the latest version of the Apache attack helicopter, is claimed to be 28 times better than its nearly legendary predecessor. The AH-64D, which is slowly being introduced into the Royal Netherlands Air Force and the US Army, features a mast-mounted millimeter-wave fire control radar. This feature, including its adaption to digital battlefield warfare, has led to a major redesign of the attack helicopters' systems architecture.
