Focused advice for growing businesses
Article Abstract:
Second tier accountancy firms, in the UK, have been able to take advantage of specialized sectors of the merger and acquisition business. The major five accountancy firms tend to focus on the larger deals, such as Arthur Anderson's deals in 1998, which ranged from $66 million to $287 million. Deals undertaken by second tier firm, BDO Stoy Hayward, were for between $8 million to $82 million. Some smaller companies have not be able to compete in the market and have looked to merge with second tier firms and therefore increased the range of expertise within those firms.
