Food, non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks
Article Abstract:
A review of consumer spending in Germany, Italy, France, Belgium, Spain, the Netherlands and the UK, analyzes key influences. The UK, Spain and the Netherlands saw increased consumer spending in 1996 and 1997, but growth in France and Germany was more sluggish. A moderate growth in food spending is predicted during the remainder of the decade, with a promising outlook for non-alcoholic drinks.
