Formation and performance of multi-partner joint ventures: a Sino-foreign illustration
Article Abstract:
International joint ventures (IJVs) have emerged as one of the most efficient marketing strategies adopted by multinational corporations (MNCs) in acquiring resources and gaining competitive advantage in global markets. A comprehensive analysis conducted on the subject revealed that the outcome of IJVs are significantly affected by the number of partners involved in such agreements and other external variables which include equity size, foreign control, socio-cultural distance among others. It was further shown that IJV performance is significantly related to the number of partners taking part in such ventures.
