Freer than free: Microsoft v Netscape

Microsoft is hoping to erode Netscape's domination of the Web browser market with the release of its Internet Explorer 3.0. The new product is similar to Netscape's Navigator, and Microsoft has contracts with several online service providers and computer makers to provide users with free copies of Internet Explorer.

Article Abstract:
Allegations that Microsoft conspired to prevent competitors from entering the software market are under scrutiny by the Dept of Justice. The main issue is that of how Microsoft tried to force Netscape out of business because of its web browser. The case against the company is strong.
