French sell-off doubts
Article Abstract:
There are doubts over France's privatization program which aims to raise $10.75 billion in 1995. The finance committe of France's Senate notes that many companies scheduled for privatization have suffered losses. Bull will need capitalization which will reduce revenue from the sale. Renault, Usinor Sacilor and Elf Aquitaine should help the government achieve its target. Market conditions will play a major role, since the government should not sell national assets to cheaply, the committee argues.
