French unease over the new Germany

France and Germany are divided over the European Union common agricultural policy, and this is part of wider differences between the two countries, reflected in newspaper articles. A book has been published in France called 'On the Next War with Germany' by a civil servant, Philippe Delmas. He reflects fears of many people in France about German reunification, and the legacy of centuries when German areas and France have been in conflict. These fears exist despite a partneship with Germany.

Article Abstract:
Disputes between France and Germany over the management of the EMU are influencing the exposure of internal debates about EMU in Germany. Most German citizens and some politicians are against the single currency, and Germany itself must resolve its position before arguing with France.
