From desktop to network: the AEC systems trade show in Philadelphia gave software manufacturers a chance to show their wares
Article Abstract:
The 1997 AEC Systems trade show was held in Philadelphia and was a major showcase for software and hardware developers. Previously there had been an emphasis on object based software, but the current focus is on the management of engineered assets. Several products on show were aimed at the construction and engineering industries, and there were systems enabling architects to re-order their design information. A new version of Bentley's Triform 3D building design environment was on show, newcomer Visio showed its AutoCAD-compatible CAD system, and version 7 of MiniCAD from Diehl Graphsoft was launched at the show.
