The United Kingdom market for fruit juice grew 5% by volume to 1. 2 billion litres in 1993, while falling 2% by value to 835 million pounds sterling based on 1989 prices. The single-serve fruit juice sector grew 5% by volume to 203 million litres in 1993. Sales of juice drinks grew 2% by value to 300 million pounds sterling and 2% by volume to 280 million litres. Pure juices grew nearly 6% by volume to 785 million litres, but fell 1% by value to 620 million pounds sterling. The freshly squeezed juice sector grew 13% to 60 million pounds sterling and is the fastest growing sector. The market is analysed.
