GESTETNER INTRODUCES NEW PRODUCTS, TO EXPAND NETWORK
Article Abstract:
Gestetner (India) Ltd (GIL), an analog copiers producer, plans to shift its focus to digital copiers. It proposes to launch high- end multifunctional office equipment into the digital copiers market. The move aims at raising GIL's market share to 25 percent from the current six to seven percent. The new products to be launched by GIL include modern duplicator printers and computer connectable copy printers. GIL will also be launching Aficio range 335 and 3245 multifunctional copier, printer, fax, sorter, stapler, punch and communicator machines. It also proposes to increase its marketing and technical support network. The network is being expanded to help the users access the network within a radius of five kilometres. Currently, GIL holds 80 percent share in the duplicators market and 70 percent share in the copy- printers market. (ag)(m)

ABB LINES UP NEW COS FOR INDIA STRATEGY

ABB of Sweden has decided to set up two new companies in India as a part of its expansion-cum-restructuring programme. ABB Financial Services has already been set up while the details for another company called ABB Energy Ventures are in the process of finalisation. ABB Financial Services will be the holding company through which all equity investments of the ABB group will be made in India. It will also expand into related areas like insurance, investment management and leasing. KPMG has been entrusted with the building of a strategy for the operations of ABB Financial Services. ABB Energy Ventures has been acquiring equity in domestic power projects and providing them with developmental services. (khr)

Gestetner India, an office automation group, has restructured its operations and created three new product groups, nine professionally managed regions and three customer care divisions. The company has decided to integrate information technology into every aspect of its business and project itself as a digital products company.
