GLOBSYN TECH TO GO IN FOR EXPANSION

Globsyn Technologies Ltd has decided on expanding its TechnoCampus project on the recommendations of management consultant, Ernst & Young. The expansion programme will be implemented over a period of two years. The company, which now has a TechnoCampus software training complex at Calcutta in alliance with IBM Corp, plans to set up 12 more centres across the country along with 4 international institutions in South Korea, Malaysia, Bahrain and Bangladesh. The expansion programme is part of the company's objective of exceeding a turnover of Rs100 crore by 2001 AD. (khr)

TN PETRO PLANS 3-PRONGED STRATEGY TO RETAIN POSITION

Tamilnadu Petroproducts Ltd (TNPL) has chalked out a 3-point strategy to maintain its position for its flagship product linear alkyl benzene in the market. It plans to make an investment of Rs4 crore in Standard Motors, Rs12.93 crore in Henkel Spic (HS) and Rs16.39 crore in Tamilnadu Newsprint and Rs4.45 crore in Industrial Development Bank of India (IDBI). It has already given Rs32.50 crore advance to HS. It has posted a net profit of Rs9.06 crore on net sales of Rs103.86 crore in the first quarter of 1998-99. (gs)
