Tories feared that their reforms of Britain's national health service would prove unpopular and cost the Conservative Party support in the next election. Instead, waiting lists have shortened, childhood immunization is at an all-time high, and hospitals are handling more patients.

The policy of denying television access to supporter of Irish Republican Army terrorists is undemocratic and problematic. By not allowing the terrorists side to speak out, the government is forcing them to get their point across with bombs instead.
