Globe enhances two of its spinoffs

The Globe and Mail is implementing a revamp of specialty channel ROBTV and the globeandmail.com website, two of the newspaper's spinoffs. Globeandmail.com has launched a new breaking news service that is aimed at business readers on Jun 19, 2000, an endeavor that is supported by a C$500,000 promotional campaign. ROBTV, for its part, will sport a new on- air appearance based on a survey conducted by Tandemar Research Inc which states that its main viewers are largely educated, affluent males.

Blackhole TV provokes at street level
Article Abstract:
Online entertainment Web site BlackholeTV.com has attracted attention with its outdoor poster ads aimed at 19- to 29-year olds. Blackhole is a Toronto-based site that promotes the city's entertainment and nightlife scene. The ads, which were created by Hewson Bridge & Smith of Ottawa, says "TV that swallows." Blackhole pres Jay Litkey said the ads were intended to create a street-level presence since since their target market is on the street, in subways and in bars.
