Glynwed's profit falls 13% as U.K. firm rebuilds

Glynwed International PLC posted a 15% decline in sales to 1.02 billion pound sterling ($1.67 billion) for the 1998 year. In 1997, the company posted 1.2 billion pound sterling. Glynwed's pretax profits before exceptional items dropped 13% to 77.4 million pound sterling. In 1997, the company posted 89.4 million pound sterling. Glynwed now has approximately 750 million pound sterling in revenues.
