Going cheap
Article Abstract:
Asia has changed from being a rapidly growing retail market as recession has hit turnover for retailers, especially those selling luxury goods. Rents are dropping for retailers, and there is more prime retail space available, while skilled staff are also easy to find. Asian companies are unable to benefit, but some western companies such as Wal-Mart are taking the opportunity to expand. Ikea also plans to continue expanding and its inexpensive products geared to consumers with limited space are suitable for the Asian market.
